SCOTTY ROBERTS is an illustrator, graphic designer, photographer deeply engaged in the art of wordsmithery and is author of several fictional and non-fictional books.
One could refer to him as a rapscallion historian and a renegade theologian; an adventurer and explorer; a stand up philosopher, talk radio host, public speaker and all ‘round decent chap.
He's husband to his awesome wife, Raini, and Author of six utterly amazing children. He and his family live just across the St. Croix River in the rural sticks of Wisconsin.
MANITOU FREE TRADERS PRESS exists to ignite a passion for the Human Story by creating historical books that attract and satisfy kids and adults. It is a core belief that books and the stories, ideas and history they hold, have the unique capacity to connect us to our past, to each other, change us, and carry us toward a better future for generations to come.
Manitou Free Traders Press
sprang up as the natural outgrowth of the living history recreations of John Driscoll, who teaches as a first person character in many historical events and venues. Over the last thirty-two years, John has presented to over 150,000 school kids and adults, with his historical characters ranging from Jacques the Voyageur, Lewis and Clark and the Corps of Discovery, and as a Naturalist in the early 1800's.
Manitou Free Traders Press has backed individual authors in their historical book projects and is now launching into a fully-fledged publishing effort to release more illustrated historical books that draw children's, middle-grade (MG) to young adult (YA) readers, as well as adults and parents looking for great fictional and non-fictional stories immersed in historical fare for themselves and their kids.
